What is a sandbox?

A sandbox is an isolated environment for running code you do not fully trust. The code gets its own files, processes and network, and it cannot reach the machine or the data around it.

Why AI agents need one

An agent writes code and runs it without a person reading it first. A sandbox gives that code a place to run where a mistake, or a harmful instruction, stays inside.

What differs between sandboxes

Providers differ in how they isolate the code (microVM, container, user-space kernel or full VM), in how long a session may run, and in how they bill.
